1946 B.F. Goodrich Challenger - (S/N - B125XX) Original unrestored condition. Schwinn made bicycles for the chain stores for many years. There were no batteries in the headlight and the horn tank. Therefore these items are in good condition and work perfectly. 99% of the time, there are old batteries in there that have melted-down and corroded these components rendering them useless. This one was a very lucky find way back in 1992. |

Donated to Jim's collection by his grand daughter. Still has the Princeton University metal bicycle registration tag and leather seat. |

Original paint 1958 Schwinn Jaguar Mark II (built on September the 8th 1958) Sold new at Lafayette's Mulhaupt's Schwinn shop where Jim's Grandfather worked. Featuring the famous Sturmey-Archer 3-speed rear hub, almost too nice to ride. A testimonial to the quality and advanced technology of Schwinn bicycles. Very fun to ride with the familiar clicking sound of the three speed rear hub when coasting. |
1958 Schwinn Hornet. (built on August the 4th 1958) These were typical "paper-boy" bikes with heavy-duty wheels and spokes, handlebars shaped to mount a newspaper bag. Including the rear rack for even more newspapers as well as lower gearing for climbing steep hills with heavy loads. This bicycle was used to deliver the Lafayette Journal and Courier in the same West Lafayette neighborhood that Jim lived when he was a boy. Acquired at a garage sale for $15.00 in 1996. Sold new at Lafayette's Mulhaupt's Schwinn shop where Jim's Grandfather worked. |

| This is the rarest of all Schwinn Krate bicycles. The 1971 Grey Ghost. This one was purchased by Jim in 1992 and he restored it in 1995. It has color matched paint, reproduction decals and a "Pete-seat" from Hyperformance rays in Arizona. The correct color was applied in base coat, then the decals, followed by Urethane clear on top. Coaster brake Krates are extremely rare. |
1971 Schwinn Hollywood - Single speed with coaster brake. This is a New Old Stock (NOS) bicycle acquired by Jim in 1994. It is absolutely brand new and has the books and paperwork as well. Not worth much but pretty cool as it has never been ridden! Sold new at Lafayette's Mulhaupt's Schwinn shop where Jim's Grandfather worked. This 1971 Schwinn Stingray was purchased at a garage sale in West Lafayette Indiana in 1998 for the huge price of $10.00. It has the period accessory monkey hanger handlebars and "sissy bar" on the back. This bicycle rides nice and has an original usage patina. It looks like it passed through time straight out of a 1970s little league field. Sold new at Lafayette's Mulhaupt's Schwinn shop where Jim's Grandfather worked.

| This never restored pristine condition 1973 P10-9 Schwinn Paramount is rolling art, hand made at the race shops at the Schwinn factory on Chicago's Kostner Avenue. Original paint "silver mist" , 10-speed. Reynolds 531 Double-Butted tubing, nervex lugs, Campagnolo Nuevo Record grupo, Campy brakes, Cinnelli bars and post, Brooks professional saddle. Too valuable and too nice to ride. Acquired in 1995 at a garage sale in West Lafayette Indiana.
| In 1995 Jim bought a matching pair of Kool Orange Schwinn Paramount P15-9 models. These belonged to a husband and wife who ordered them custom built. This was the wife's bike and it has less than ten miles since new. It is extremely rare to have a matching pair of Paramounts and Jim has all the paperwork including the original order forms and sales receipt. From the day they were ordered to the day of delivery was fourteen months time! Jim's original paint "kool orange" 1972 Schwinn Paramount P15-9. 15-speed touring bicycle. (One of a matching pair. A husband and wife ordered them new in 1972) Reynolds 531 Double-Butted tubing, nervex lugs, Campagnolo Nuevo Record grupo, Campagnolo Granturismo, Weinmann center pull touring brakes, Cinnelli bars and post. Jim has the original Brooks Professional seat, it is leather and very fragile. This is the seat Jim uses when he want to take her for a ride. This is rolling art, hand made at the race shops at the Schwinn factory on Chicago's Kostner Avenue.

| Only one year of production, extremely rare 1978 Schwinn Stingray "Sneaker". The bicycle has a tennis shoe styling motif. The pinstripes and writing on the chain-guard are designed to look like shoe strings.
| 1978 "fenderless" basic Stingray model. Restored by Jim in 1998 in Kool Orange. When Jim was a kid, this basic stripped-down model was the least expensive and coolest thing there was. (This one cost $49.00 when new which was a lot of paper route money in those days.) - This design predates anything related to the BMX and Freestyle bicycle of today. This is the "real old School" boy's bicycle. - Jim can remember well his spectacular leaps off the pitcher's mound. He thought he was going into orbit, but was probably getting less than one foot off the ground. He vividly remembers a huge crash on one of these. While zooming down a steep alley in West Lafayette he lost control and got a serious case of road rash. Another time when he was riding in flip-flops, he clipped his big toe on a tree-root up-heaved sidewalk segment and took the tip of the toe right off... How we survived childhood in those day is a mystery... This one is a display piece now, it is too valuable and definitely too nice to ride.

| Jim bought this 1981 Super Le Tour new from Mulhaupt's in Lafayette Indiana in the summer of 1981. Built during the period when Schwinn was outsourcing construction of high-end road bikes to Japan. This is one of Jim's favorite riders. It is a steel frame with ornate brazed lug construction (1020 AISI chrome molybdenum) with a superb Sugino/Suntour grupo. It is a Japanese copy of a Paramount and the build quality is superb. Jim bought this 1995 Super Sport 100th Anniversary Edition new in 1995 at Mulhaupt's in Lafayette Indiana. In 2009 Jim sold it to a collector in the small country of Andorra in the Pyrenees mountains of Europe. The buyer had it transported by DHL air freight.
